Dr. Labban, a third-generation physician, received his medical diploma from the state of New York, delivered through the American University of Beirut in 1987. He trained for three years in obstetrics and gynecology at the American University Hospital in Beirut. Then he came to the United States where he completed his internship at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz., and his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla.
After two years of practice in Boaz, Ala., Dr. Labban opened practice offices in Red Bud and Waterloo, Ill., in July 1997 under St. Clement Hospital Health Services and Unity Health.
In June 2001, Dr. Labban was persuaded by his close friends Drs. Suheil and Fadi Haddad, who were well established in the area, to move to Bloomington. Dr. Labban is multilingual; in addition to English, he speaks Spanish, French and Arabic.
Dr. Labban is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the IU School of Medicine.
Originally, from the East Coast, Dr. Ojiaku completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Yale University and then went on to complete a Master's degree in public health there in Chronic Disease Epidemiology. From there, she remained in Connecticut and completed her medical degree at the University Of Connecticut School Of Medicine. Dr. Ojiaku then went on to complete her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Howard University Hospital in Washington DC.
Dr. Ojiaku has completed several research projects, presented at national conferences and has published papers in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her interests are in patient education and international health. Dr. Nwachuku has participated in missions work in Nigeria and maintains ties there. Dr. Ojiaku looks forward to working with you and meeting your reproductive health needs.
Rebecca graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2008. She then spent 3 years overseas in Costa Rica and El Salvador as a missionary nurse. Rebecca is bilingual in English and Spanish. Upon returning to the US she spent the following 6 years of her nursing career in the Emergency Department as bedside nurse and in management.
While in the Emergency Department, Rebecca also served in the capacity of Forensic Nurse Examiner, provider care to victims of violent crime, including domestic violence and sexual assault.
In 2017, Rebecca graduated with a Master’s Degree in Family Practice Advanced Practice Nursing. She is thrilled to join Dr. Labban in practice and anxious to serve our patient population.
